Not something I'd want on singletrack.I've had to upgrade two customers to Mavics who had these wheels on their bikes. On weinnman's web sit those x26's are in the urban catagory NOT Mountain.yes double walled, but the spokes pull through the eyelets. They werent just prizes for the Tech.BUT I will point out that the wheelset WILL need up grading.
If you're over 185lbs though you may need a beefier fork and other components tho.even at 800 its a good price for those specs on an entry level 29er. I've ridden the bike a handful of times and it performs well. Hydraulic brakes and air dampened fork for $600 in a new 29er is pretty difficult to find. You can find some used 29ers with better components if you don't mind looking around.

Entry meaning you obviously need a full suspension bike for serious downhills, but this is an all around great bike. I recommend it as a good, reliable, entry bike. I have been riding this thing about 30 miles a day and aside from a little rear brake rub at the begninning and a flat on a thin tube, I have to say this bike is great. At first the back brake rubbed a little but a simple turn of an allen wrench adjusted the brake pad and both disc brakes work well. Front suspension is good (Im 220), shifting is good, replaced tubes with heavy duty ones so no more flats. I have since found the path to the local mountains that are open for riding and have been riding alot of fire roads and starting single track.īike works very well. I wanted to ride from my garage to the trails instead of driving somewhere, so while I was trying to find some hills mountains I put in a lot of miles on the bike on bike paths, which the bike works great.
